CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Local hospitals are receiving 1,200 gallons of medical-grade hand sanitizer from ExxonMobil.

The donation is being coordinated by Gulf Coast Growth Ventures, a world-scale petrochemical plant under construction near Gregory as a joint venture between ExxonMobil and SABIC.

The group says local government officials will also receive the hand sanitizer donation.

CHRISTUS Spohn Health System, Driscoll Children’s Hospital, and Nueces and San Patricio counties will receive the sanitizer donations.

“This gift of medical-grade hand sanitizer is an exceptional blessing to CHRISTUS Spohn Health System,” said Karen Bonner, vice president of philanthropy. “We have a critical need for this hand sanitizer and it’s difficult to get. Our number one focus is keeping safe our patients, associates and visitors.”

The hand sanitizer was produced in a reconfigured ExxonMobil manufacturing facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
