About
Todd A. Hunter is currently serving in his ninth term in the Texas House of Representatives. He was first elected to the Texas House in 1988 and retired from public service in 1997, so he could dedicate more time to raising his three young children with his wife, Alexis. He is an attorney at The Law Office of Todd A. Hunter, PLLC in Corpus Christi.
Born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1953, Todd earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas in 1975 and his J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1978. He has lived in the Corpus Christi area for almost 40 years, where he met and married his wife, the former Alexis Taylor. They have three children: Todd Jr., a graduate of Texas A&M University – College Station and St. Mary's University Law School; Michael, a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio and an MBA graduate of Texas A & M Corpus Christi; and Christina, an architecture graduate of the University of Texas in Austin and an MBA graduate of Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
Chairman Hunter completed four terms in the Texas House of Representative, serving from 1989 to 1997. In 2008, he was elected to a fifth term and in 2010 to a sixth term serving District 32 which then included Aransas, Calhoun and San Patricio Counties and part of Nueces County. In 2012, he was re-elected for his seventh term and in 2014 to his eighth term and in 2016 to his ninth term, representing District 32 which is currently the eastern half of Nueces County.
