Ambassadors

Purpose of the Ambassadors: The Portland Chamber Ambassadors are an elite group of business professionals who volunteer to serve as the retention and greeting arms of the Chamber. Ambassadors exhibit the highest degree of professionalism, knowledge, and integrity and help new members become acclimated to the Chamber culture. Ambassadors represent the Chamber at ribbon cuttings, luncheons, mixers and other chamber sponsored events, membership drives, and other events. Ambassadors assist in the recruitment and orientation of new members. Ambassadors maximize the Chamber’s retention efforts through personal contact with members. To produce a foundation for building future community leaders.

I hold a seat on the Friends of the Library Board, am a Board member of the Portland Chamber of Commerce and the treasurer of Chatworks Civic Club. I am an avid quilter and donate quilts each year to various community service projects, including Quilts Beyond Borders and senior living centers.
I served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1995 - 2003 and started my first career with a Masters of Science in Operations Technology and Safety. I now hold both the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7 and 66 registrations and life insurance registration in multiple states. I am married and have a senior in GP high school.

A Wedding & Event Designer for 20 years. I have now been here for 10 years. Married, with our combined family of 5 children, the youngest still at home. 2 grandchildren. My mother, middle child of 3 girls, 5 boys. My father, the youngest of 3 boys and 5 girls. My brother with his wife and 4 girls. The last I heard there was like 128 grandchildren, leading to great-grandchildren and so on. I am related to Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone of the Alamo. My great-grandmother down the line is Sarah Dodson creator of the Tri-Star flag of Texas. I am very proud of my middle name as the 5th - cousin of the one and only King of Rock-In-Roll - Mr. Elvis Presley.  There is a picture of my grandfather Bobby Northington, Sr. with Elvis as children at a family picnic. Have not seen it yet! My youngest uncle whom I am three years older did a social studies project and found a Royal Crest (Northington) in our family history linking us to Europe. I want to know more about that!

Michelle Kasaboglu comes from an international family and currently returned from working in Iraq where she proudly supported our Military family.   Michelle is a graduate of the Conrad School of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston.  Michelle currently represents the Holiday Inn Corpus Christi Downtown Marina in Corpus Christi, Texas. Michelle enjoys time at the beach and enjoys painting at one of Corpus Christi’s many scenic locations. Michelle also enjoys volunteering for Kappa Delta Chi community projects.
