We are so excited that your child has decided to participate in the Windfest Science Fair this year! Before you complete this registration form, PLEASE be sure to thoroughly read the rules and presentation guidelines located at the bottom of the form. These materials outline our Science Fair’s rules and will help your child have a fun and successful experience. Windfest General Rules for Science Project
1. Safety First: Ensure all projects are safe for participants and observers. No hazardous materials or dangerous setups. 2. Original Work: Projects should be the original work of the participants. Plagiarism is not allowed. 3. Age-Appropriate: Projects should be suitable for the age group of the participants. 4. Documentation: Participants should provide a detailed report or logbook documenting their project, including hypothesis, methods, results, and conclusions.
Windfest Project-Specific Rules
1. Wind Source: Clearly define the source of wind used in the project (e.g., fans, natural wind, blowers). 2. Measurement Accuracy: Ensure accurate measurement tools are used for any data collection (e.g., anemometers for wind speed). 3. Environmental Impact: Projects should consider and minimize any negative environmental impact. 4. Innovation: Encourage creativity and innovation in the use of wind energy or wind-related phenomena.
Windfest Presentation Rules
1. Display: Projects should be displayed neatly and clearly, with all components labeled; including Title and Objective of the project, Hypothesis and background information, Materials and Methods used, Results and Conclusions. 2. Explanation: Participants should be prepared to explain their project and answer questions from judges and visitors. 3. Visual Aids: Use visual aids like charts, graphs, and models to enhance the presentation.
